Orson Lewis

Orson grew up in Granger. His father, Wilford drove the horse-drawn Trolley in Salt Lake and horse-drawn carriages for hired Tours of Yellowstone.

In 1913  at the age of 14, Orson bought a Model-T Ford Touring car. He started Star Auto Line, his own business. He drove miners from Bingham Mine to Salt Lake. He drove up to 50 trips a day. Soon, he grew the business and his equipment.

Orson married Evaline Moesser from Hunter. Evaline grew up near 3663 S 5600 W.

Orson and Evaline were a great team and together with family, they grew Lewis Brother Stage.

 By the 1930's Orson and company had driven One Million Miles serving customers!

He bought 25 school buses and drove workers from the Bingham Mines and Soldiers Kearns Camp to Salt Lake 24 hours a day.

The family business was renamed Lewis Stages. It was sold several years ago and after 103 years it closed.
