3600 West 3800 South
James Athey was organizing some items from his parents collections. He was very excited when he found a Muslin Fabric Sack from the Bangerter Milling Company .
Harlan Bangerter is a grandson, and this is a brief history of his grandparents company "This is from the Frederick L. Bangerter flour mill that was located on the southwest corner of 3800 South on 3600 West. Marvel Maid was the name they used for the flour products. The Bangerter flour mill was one of the first permanent businesses in Granger. They had a big mill, and a railroad spur to the Bamberger rail line that ran east and west down 3800 South so they could load grain and flour into rail cars
The Bangerter family sold the mill in 1926. The new owners didn't understand how to vent the building, and the fine flour dust ignited and exploded and reduced the mill to match sticks. No one was injured. But that was the END of the flour mill in Granger. What a find that sack is! "
