Did you know there was a shoot out on the corner of 3100 South 2700 West on a hot July day in 1971?

It was a time of tragedy as a Idaho boy walked into the Temporary Trailer of the Granger Tracy Collins Bank at

3620 South 2700 West and robbed the bank.

After a short police chase the suspect pulled into the gas station  (corner of 3100 So and 2700 West)

and opened fire.  Police Sargent Barnes

was shot in the back, and survived.  The robber was shot and died at the scene.
