Rev. Warren H Sechler, Newcomer to Granger

Rev. Warren H. Sechler and his family are newcomers to the Granger area, but they are fast becoming well-known in the community.
“We never liked to live right in the City’. Mrs. Sechler stated.. “We enjoy living in Granger very much. “
Rev. Sechler was raised in Kansas and moved to Ogden upon receiving a government job in Ogden. His wife, the former Joyce Henderson of Nebraska, moved to the same city when her father was transferred to the Beehive State.
The young couple met, while residing in Ogden. They were married in 1947. Shortly after their marriage, Rev. Sechler decided to enter the Ministry and they moved to Eugene, Oregon.
At Eugene, he attended for approximately 5 years Northwest Christian college receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. Upon his graduation, Rev. Sechler also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Weber College in Ogden.
The new minister helped to organize the Granger Christian Community Church in September of 1957. The Granger pastor moved to the community in January of this year. During this period, Rev. Sechler was serving as assistant Pastor at the Central Christian Church in Salt Lake City.
Since July 1st, Rev. Sechler has been serving as full-time Pastor of the Granger Church. The congregation now boasts 50 members.
“We have been experiencing a rapid growth”, the reverend reported. “We expect to have quite a large church in Granger someday”.
The Sechler’s are the proud parents of 3 children. Terry, their eldest, is 10 years old and he has a brother, Kenny, who is 7. Their youngest is a girl, Sheila, who is just 3.
During this duty with Uncle Sam, Rev. Sechler was stationed in India and Berma with the U.S. Army Air Force.
“He loves to fly and has his commercial license”, Mrs Sechler pointed out.
A man of many talents and interests, Rev. Sechler left last Sunday to serve as counselor at the Christian Youth camp.
