David Warr
Born in England, David migrated to Utah as a young boy. He homesteaded a quarter-section of land (later relinquished ¼ of it ). He was a weaver by trade but tried his hand at every job. For 6 months he guarded the island in the Great Salt Lake. “Life was rugged, and the Indians gave them many uneasy hours” on there 2 room home at 3100 south 3600 west. He had experienced much hunger in England and was an avid gardener in Granger, where food was abundant. He was the 1st to raise a Lucerne (hay/alfalfa for cattle) in Granger, helped with irrigation ditches, built drains , built wells and ditches for culinary water.
David is remembered as a stalwart pioneer with a keen sense of humor and was often the life of the party. His life philosophy was “We Advance by going forward--- never by going back”.
He lived 99 wonderful years.
