Lurena Eldredge-Warnick
Julia-Lurena was the daughter of Frederick & Julia Lambert-Eldredge
As a newborn, she got Whopping caught and then shortly after that Chicken Pox.
The family home & farm was at 3516 W 4100 So.
The first 5 children were girls. Lurena enjoyed helping her father on the family farm. She helped with the horses, fed calves, watered the gardens, played, planted and harvested. The family had a dry-farm and she spent many days harvesting on the families dry-farm too.
She loved nature and she loved her family farm. She knew the name of every plant and weed. She loved to pick bouquets of wonderful wildflowers and make mud pies.
Laurena enjoyed going to the small 1 room community school and then she attended The Monroe School. Her father Frederick drove the school children to school in his wagon and in his sleigh.
After graduating from the Monroe School she chose to attend Granite High School and then attended the University of Utah. She received a Teaching certificate and became a beloved teacher in the Granger and Magna area.
Her life motto was "Make the Best Better". She always made sure her children knew how much they were loved. Lurena also included friends and neighbors as her family.
She worked for 35 years in the 4-H organization. She was an avid fundraiser for the youth to ensure that they would be hailed for their accomplishments. She also made sure all the youth were able to take any out-of-state trips that they were offered. She enjoyed being part of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for decades.
She married Merrill Warnick and raised a wonderful family.
