John and Ansley Wood and their children owned up to 600 acres of dry-farms in the area.

Most of their dry-farms were on the south/west part of Hunter/Granger/Pleasant Green and the north part of Kearns.

Their home was in Murray but they found great value in owning dry farms. One of their children noted that they were always told of the great value in owning dry-farming acres.

Many of their dry-farm acres were leased out to local farmers.
