Granger fell in love with Mildred in 1944

Mildred Schwante was born and raised in Arizona. The beautiful Mildred caught the handsome Grant Bangerter's eye during church at the Douglas Air Base where Grant was a pilot instructor. The two were a perfect team, both exceptional and accomplished at a young age.  They were married in 1944.

Mildred was loved by many area residents.  An article shortly before she died states the family home was at  3253 W 3500 S

Mildred developed Leukemia and passed awayat the age of 33, leaving her 3 children..

Grant married Geraldine Hamblin, who was instrumental in rearing  Mildred's  children along with many more Bangerter children.
