Boxing Commissioner Ned Winder
Ned Winder was involved in many things. Here is a picture of him with famous boxers Gene Fullmer and Spider Webb.
In 1959 Ned was named Chairman of Utah's first state-wide boxing commission. Ned, Max Righ & Leslie Whtitedrew up the bill that became Utah's law. Ned helped to make additional athletic codes and cocntracts between managers, promotors and fighters.
There was a statement in the SL Tribune that said "We immediately sent a WIRE to the National Boxing Association" telling them about the appointments.
Note: Visits will not be made during Deer Hunting Season.
There wasn't much that Ned wasn't involved in. Boxing Commissioner was just one of the many leadership positions that he held.
That same year (1959) he was elected Sons of the Utah Pioneers-Pioneer Chapter President
He served for many years on the board before becoming President.
He was elected to the 5-man Chamber of Commerce Board
He was part of the board for over a decade
