John Bawden built this home

John built Alice a new two-room brick house, of which she was justly proud. The house faced northward and was constructed of buff-colored brick. It contained a large, sunny kitchen-family room on the west and a sizeable bedroom on the east. A summer kitchen was built on the west side of the structure.
. The walls were painted white and all the woodwork was dark. A rag carpet covered the floor of the kitchen-family room.
