Benjamin "Ben" Rolfe
Benjamin Rolfe was the son of William and Mary Anderson Rolfe. The family lived on a 25 acre farm in Hunter. Benjamin's father died when he was just 8yrs old, leaving the family to take care of the farms.
Ben's father's dairy business
Benjamin was always a big help even though he was the youngest child, he could be counted on to feed the cows and help sell the milk. He attended Cyprus High School and worked at Kennecott. When WWII broke out Benjamin wasn't expected to enlist, after all his mother was a widow with a large farm. Benjamin didn't let that stop him from enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. He knew he must help his country. He also mentioned that if he enlisted then a man with a wife and children may not need to enlist.
During his basic training he met and married the beautiful Fern Crump. He left on his mission October 1944 and was killed 1 month later.
Benjamin left his wife Fern and their daughter "Bennie" Rolfe.
We honor Lt. Banjamin Rolfe for his service to our country.
