Debbie Garcia Blatt
Debbie was born and raised in Granger. She graduated GHS 1983.
She began painting as a small child. She took a break from her art to raise her children. She would try to find a few minutes to creat but her children were her priority. Her children are all raised and now she is a full time artist. Her art has been published in many magazines. She sells her art and also teaches classes on-line. She said "to me creating is freedom; there are no rules, no boundaries. There are only feelings, expression, color, lights."
Here are some of her projects
She donates her services to the
community she grew up in
20 years ago 5 yr old McKell Hedden "Pickles" went to her babysitters, August 8,1998. She and 4 other little girls were killed when they got locked into the trunk of a car. These girls are often referred to as the "Five Little Angels".
Pickle's father Roy Hedden makes it a point to join up with The Sharing Team every year to give books and Christmas gifts to needy children in the area.
Debbie Blatt Garcia has been neighbors, friends and schoolmates with Roy and donated her services to create a whimsical piece of art for the project. This art has been used with stickers that are placed each book.
Debbie has renovated old campers into "Glampers" with her artwork
She is a talented artist, teacher & humanitarian. If you would like to take a class from Debbie she has on-line courses:
