Duane Larsen
"Friendliest Man in the City"
Much of Duane's life was spent serving the needs of the Hillsdale Subdivision. He served as an LDS Bishop to the Granger 10th Ward and did a great job. One of the most amazing things Duane did after he retired was to serve as the friendly face to pedestrians and drivers headed down 3600 West. Duane was a crossing guard and he always had a huge genuine smile and a big wave for everyone that drove down the street (approx 3700 South). I know he started the trend of " the waving Crossing Guard"..
The city got many positive messages about Duane and the extra joyful exuberance, so they awarded him "Friendliest Man in the City".
