Mom & Dad (David & Grace)

David & Grace Harman build their home in 1918 at 4090 south 3600 west. They had 9 children. Two of their sons went on to create empires for their families.

Jake Harmon

Jake (George) Harman was born in 1912.  Jake married in 1931. The story goes that when Jake & Irene filled out their marriage license, Jake's name got spelled incorrectly. (Harmon)  Well the spelling stuck.

In 1932 he opened his own business (fruit stand)in Salt Lake & then it grew into a grocery store. They moved it back home to Granger. After 80 years Jake's business is still serving not only Granger but most of Utah. There are 17 stores and 4 generations of Harmon's in the family business.

Notice the "O" on the last name? George R" Jake" HarmOn.

Jake & Pete had many struggles growing up on this Granger Farm.

There mother died when they were young. Their father remarried and their family grew overnight to 14.

Jake & Pete both learned that they must work hard to get things done. They learned that life often has unbearable sadness but they had to move forward anyway.

They both learned that personal businesses take much hard work to grow.

I admire these two Granger Boys!
