Alfred Solomon
Alfred was always a hard worker. His family owned The Solomon Brother's Shoe Factory on 3rd No. 4th W. in Salt Lake City. Alfred met and married the beautiful Catherine Moffat. She was born in Scotland.
Shoe Factory
In 1904, Alfred & his brother sold the factory and Alfred moved to Granger. The home was built in 1884 and located at 3852 S 4000 W.
The home and land was originally owned by the Witcher Family.
Alfred & Catherine were loved by all in Granger. They taught their 5 children the value of hard work along with enjoying life. The family remembers Alfred or Catherine as kind and loyal to each other and to all they came in contact with.
People from all over the area knew that they were always welcome in the Solomon home. The home was was always giggles, happiness, love and kindness.
Their motto was :
- Made the best of all God gave them,
- Aver toiling, giving, taking,
- Kind and loving always were,
- Vain the tribute we would pay them.
Alfred & Katherine were married more than 65 years and both lived to be over 90 years old.
