The Christmas Boot

Our Granger Utah friend Linda Hardy Hepworth still displays her Red Christmas boot. The Boot was purchased in 1966. The reason this boot is so special is that the money raised from it's sale went to help pay for a local church.

In the early days of Granger the community pulled together to make sure that there were parks for the children, playground equipment, drinking fountains, parades, Annual  Founders Day celebrations and also local churches.

This boot helped to pay for the Hillsdale Subdivision LDS church. It is amazing the marvelous things that the Granger residents did to unify and provide for the community.  You are probably aware that the Lion's Club sold yearly calendars, brooms, fundraising dinners and breakfasts. Can you imagine the time and energy that the residents had to put together these functions?

I commend the women of the Granger 10th ward for sewing these precious boots. These boots are so much more than a Christmas Decoration, they are a remembrance of those precious, caring, hardworking people that made this community great.
