Herman & Emilie Brock

Herman was born in Germany, Emilie in Prussia. They migrated to America in 1905.

Herman was a hard worker. He was able to purchase 17.5 acres in Granger. He and his family worked the Alkali Granger Soil . He dug deep ditches to condition the soil and then hauled in tons of manure to give it nutrition. .  His soil became rich and him farm was prosperous.

He worked along side other Granger farmers like David Harmon and David Warr.

His primary crop was the Sugar beet. His family worked hard to plant, weed , top and haul the Sugar Beets to the West Jordan Sugar Factory.

Soon Herman and Emilie bought 5 more acres. They raised chickens for a while.

Emilie was a wonderful homemaker, she canned everything she could get her hands on. She made sure that every visitor to their home left with a good meal.

Herman died in 1924 and Emilie in 1941
