William Deverall

William was born in England. He was a Blacksmith by trade and moved to America in 1891. He worked hard and soon sent for his wonderful Catherine Evans and when she arrived they were married.

WIlliam owned a 7.5 acre plot of ground near Redwood and 4700 South (N/W corner).   He said " I built a red brick home on a dirt road called Redwood Rd".

His land was full of wheat, a huge garden, apples, peaches apricots, all types of bushes, gooseberry as well ans cows, chickens and cows.

To supplement his income he built a Blacksmith shop next door (approx 4650 Redwood Rd).

He was a hard worker and had flowing water from his well that formed a stream where watercress grew. He dug a wonderful well.

His main focus was being a Blacksmith, He made iron tires for wagon wheels, horseshoes and anything the neighbors needed him to do. He also served as a volunteer Fireman and was loved by the  community.
