Olympic Medal

Did you know we had an Olympian grow up on Chesterfield? He won a Silver at the 64' Tokyo Olympics.

Many friends and neighbors remember Blaine running in the neighborhood and practicing hurtles in his back yard. Wikipedia says: Blaine Lindgren is a retired American sprinter who competed mainly in the 110 m hurdles. He won this event at the 1963 Pan American Games, but then was beaten by a small margin in at the 1964 Olympics, where Lindgren placed second. He graduated from Utah University and worked for the sheriff's department in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Here is a video where Blaine tells of his experiences in football and track and explains why he didn't bring home a gold metal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=da8AwaoNXug
